Top Tips for Planning a Perfect Last Minute Wedding

Not all weddings are interlaced with fairytale-ish ideas and swoony details. There are those weddings that require quick thinking and clever execution. Welcome to the world of last minute weddings.

Cutting the C’s Down

Cut down the costly cakes and centrepieces! Oh yes, spend less on the decor too. Make sure you don’t plan extravagance around these areas. Get a local cake maker instead of a popular cake artist. For the decor, go for blooms that are easily available. In case, you have a baking expert in your family, look not beyond!

Last Minute Wedding Venue

Since a last minute wedding does away with the pre-book story, pick a venue that is easy on availability and on the pocket too. You can cleverly pick a cafe or diner where you dated frequently as the wedding venue. In fact, you may even bid goodbye to invite cards. Set up an e card or shoot an email. Better still share your customized wedding website. One tip here is that gear up to hear people say no to the invitation! After all, sudden plans have their drawbacks too.

D Day…Duh Uh

D stands for dress here. While the perfect wedding dress for any couple needs to be scouted for and pre-ordered, last minute wedding arrangements turn D Day topsy-turvy. In fact, we suggest getting simpler wedding dresses off the rack. Get the fitting checked in the trial section itself. For the grooms, this aspect might not be tough. Tuxes are available for rent even on short notice. However, we hope you are not as messy as Chandler Bing when it comes to getting a right fitted tuxedo.

The Feast and Drinks

While a last minute wedding leaves you with the least time, you can order your wedding feast from your nearest restaurant. While the spread might not be lavish, you can have the regular faves such as pie and steak. Arrange for comfort food since this works perfectly well for anyone and everyone. As for the drinks, you could order regular wine and champagne. While getting the “bestest” quality on sudden notice could be pretty tough, you can have ample drinks that can keep flowing.

The last tip here is to have fun and cherish your wedding day. After all, last minute or not, a wedding binds you to your soul mate for life!

Last minuet Weddings can be a trick to pull off but that’s where family or friends come in. Get everyone you know involved to pull off those last minuet details. Family cook or pot luck from guests. Friend make the cake and centerpieces etc. It can be done. Organization is the key.
