Pantone Color of the Year 2016: Rose Quartz & Serenity Wedding Inspiration

by Anchal Bhatia

It’s that time of the year again! Pantone has recently announced its color of the year 2016 and for the first time ever it isn’t one, but two hues. A soft pairing of pastels, Rose Quartz and Serenity are a breath of fresh air from the past vivid colors such as Marsala in 2015 and Radiant Orchid in 2014. There is something so perfectly refreshing about a blush pink and a light blue-sort of a girl meets boy, making this pair truly wedding wonderful. Here is how we envision these two colors blending in the this year.

Pantone Color of the Year 2016: Rose Quartz & Serenity Wedding Inspiration

Pantone Color of the Year Wedding Inspiration

Rose Quartz Bridesmaid Dresses

Imagine how gorgeous your bridesmaid will look in this ultimate feminine shade of pink. As they walk down the aisle before you, everyone around will be in awe at their beauty. The best part? This warm undertone of pink is sure to complement almost every skin tone.

Serenity Groom Accessories

When it comes to styling your wedding in the color of the year, remember you cannot forget the groom and his favorite guys! If the thought of wearing blush pink on his big day is too unnerving, this year of course he is in luck! Instead of the pink, he can opt for serenity which is a cool powdery blue and will look just perfect when paired with grey, khaki, or navy suits.

The Wedding Decor

When it comes to your wedding, the decor part is one thing we cannot stress enough. It is the only element of wedding planning that has the power to transform an empty room into the day of your dreams. If you plan to work with the beautiful shade of pink, you are sure to have a foundation of a warm and romantic ambiance. Use hints of blush pink in your floral arrangements and other table accessories. However, make sure not to use too much of it or it can overpower your theme. Alternatively, if you plan to use the dusty blue, flowers such as hydrangeas with leafy greens will look great as centerpieces and bouquets.

The Wedding Cake

For many the wedding cake is the focal point of the reception and we completely second that thought. Whether you plan to use rose quartz or serenity, a white or an ivory iced cake can be easily transformed using matching accessories such as pink or blue flowers. Alternatively, you can take it to another level and simply get it done in either of the color with a secondary shade like gold. Whatever you choose, remember it has to taste just as good as it looks.

The Color Palette

Because of its light and airy quality, rose quartz will look great when combined with other colors. Being a hue of pink, gold is the ultimate partner for it. After all, what’s not to love about this gorgeous combination? Both are rich, warm, and elegant. In case you are looking for something different, try mint instead. The combo works beautifully together creating the ultimate calm ambiance for a summer wedding. Whereas, for more of a color statement, let the pastel blue pop against ruby red or some other rich jewel tone.

Overall, we believe that these two shades are going to be the hottest colors for weddings in 2016. What do you think? Do you plan to use either of these colors in your big day?
